2005 - Steve Cavanagh

From Ottawa, Ontario, Steve 'Moose' Cavanagh was one of the most popular players in Kings history.  Steve played for the team for 2 years, and in 2004 he won the Kings MVP award for his huge contributions on the mound and with the bat, and also because of his great spirit.  Steve's upbeat outlook and extremely approachable personality made playing baseball for the Kings very fun for everybody - which is what baseball in Britain is all about.  However, this doesn't mean that he didn't take playing baseball for the Kings seriously.  When things get tense and tempers start to fray, Steve is the sort of guy that you are glad to have on your team.  Perhaps this can be attributed to him having a good 'hockey' style mentality - always stick up for yourself and your teamates.
