2006 - Derek Kelly

Derek (King) Kelly was the Kings pitching ace during the 2005 and 2006 baseball seasons.  Prior to this, he also pitched in his home town for New York University.  With his super-heated fastballs, cunning curve-balls and downright scary sidearm pitches, Derek was a strike-out machine.    In 2005 he notched up an incredible 19 Ks in a single game - a Kings record (by quite some considerable margin).  Perhaps his greatest moment during his time with the Kings, however, was when he led the team to victory in the 2005 inaugural Torneo Internazionale Di Baseball - a four team tournament held in Turin, Italy.  Derek has left the team to continue his studies in Harvard (and we wish him the best of luck with this), but professional baseball teams in the US have been showing interest in his considerable sporting talent, so perhaps one day we will see him playing baseball at the highest level - working towards a place in another hall of fame?
