The Oxford Kings Baseball Club was founded in 1999 by three University of Oxford postgraduate students who were members of Keble College; Santo Bains, Vicki Strong & Dileepan Joseph.  The Club originally represented the University of Oxford, but in 2001 the Kings additionally became the baseball club for the City of Oxford. Since then players from all over the world have joined the team, both to enjoy the game of baseball and to promote the game within Britain. 2009 marks the 10th anniversary of the club, and this season promises to build on a very successful 2008 campaign that saw the Kings win the British Baseball Federation (BBF) AAA South division and reach the championship game. Though losing this final game to the Herts Falcons was a disappointment the Kings are now even more determined to make 2009 another memorable BBF season. The formation of the British University Baseball Association (BUBA) in 2008 has increased the opportunities for current students in Oxford to get involved with baseball. Oxford students can now represent their University in a Spring league and at several national tournaments throughout the year. So if you are a baseball lover, whether you’ve played the game before or not and whether you’re studying or living in Oxford, don’t hesitate to contact the team and start enjoying the game!
